Dahlia Photo Show
In September there was a dahlia photo show at the Bayard Cutting Aboretum. There were four category’s, single bloom, multi bloom , artistic (read that as photoshop) and photos with children or insects. I entered the first three at the advanced level because I was feeling cocky.
My original thought was there would be countless gorgeous pictures of beautiful blooms so I decided on something different. What about a picture of a dahlia being photographed. So I created PhotoShoot. I set up as much equipment as I could find and hundreds of attempts I finally got an interesting result.
The Bayard people agreed it was interesting, then they rejected it because the dahlia wasn’t the focus of the picture.
So these were my other entries.
Catagoy 1, One Bloom
Catagoy 2- Multi Bloom
Yes, they are the same flowers as Photo Shoot, we only had one plant. I thought the rain effect (I used a hose) was a unique take. On shooting flowers.
Catagory 3. Artistic Impressions
Again the same flower and it was getting a bit tired. I thought the night and moon picture gave it a spooky effect not usual seen in flower pictures. With AdobePaint Can I turned the multi bloom picture into a Monet.
None of them won anything.
