Grandpa is a Photographer
You start out by writing for you, and with any luck maybe a few more people will join this. I’m a retired computer geek taken to photography and may be getting good at it, time will tell. Besides endlessly photographing grandchildren I am fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow on common objects. My wife loves birds, flowers and color so i shoot both to maintain a happy marriage.
I recently entered pictures in the Bayard Cutting Arboretum Dahlia Exhibit, won nothing but it’s a start. I also had two pictures in the OLLI at Stoneybrook Art show to favorable comments and will enter the big time, at least for me, with a photo in Gallery North’s “Deck the Halls” exhibit. The picture is the “Christmas Cardinal”.
All of these pictures are on the website.
if all goes well the next semester I’ll be teaching an OLLI at Stoneybrook course “Digital Photos for People Who Don’t Know a Damned Thing About Them”. If you’re reading this the odds are you won’t need it, but if you know someone with an IPhone who is forever asking “where that picture is” or why are my pictures so light (or dark or whatever) you can steer them my way.
